Privacy Policy - Solebound

# Privacy Policy for Solebound / Touri Last updated: August 31, 2026 This Privacy Policy explains how This Reality ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you play Solebound, also referred to in development as Touri (the "Game"). Solebound is a real-world exploration game. The Game uses your device location to reveal map areas, show points of interest, record places you visit, support missions, and calculate gameplay progress such as visited area. This document is a project privacy policy draft based on the current codebase. Before publishing it, replace the contact placeholder below and have the final version reviewed for your target countries, app stores, and age rating. ## Contact Developer: This Reality Contact email: contact@melix.games ## Information We Collect ### Location Information With your permission, the Game collects precise or approximate device location information, including latitude and longitude. This is core to the Game's functionality. We use location information to: - place the player on the in-game map; - reveal nearby fog-covered map areas as you move in the real world; - detect visits to real-world points of interest; - record visited map tiles, cells, vertices, and markers; - calculate total and weekly explored area; - show nearby missions and points of interest; - continue map reveal tracking during an active walk when the app is in the background, if you have granted the required permissions. On Android, the Game may use a foreground location service while the app is in the background. On iOS, the Game may use background location updates. The Game may show a system notification while background tracking is active. You can control location permission through your device settings. If location permission is disabled, core gameplay features that depend on real-world movement may not work. ### Gameplay and Save Data The Game stores gameplay progress on your device. This may include: - visited point-of-interest names and categories; - saved location points and timestamps; - visited map tiles, cells, and vertices; - completed missions; - chosen character and cosmetic items; - inventory, coins, bombs, area expanders, boosters, and cosmetic cases; - player level and stats; - display preferences, such as map area units; - subscription benefit status and local purchase-related flags; - analytics consent choice; - rewarded ad cooldown timestamps. This local save data is stored in the app's local storage area on your device. Some builds may use lightweight obfuscation for this file, but local save data should not be treated as end-to-end encrypted. ### Account and Sign-In Information The Game uses Unity Authentication. You may be signed in anonymously, or you may choose to link your game account with Google Play Games or Sign in with Apple. If you use platform sign-in, the Game may receive authentication tokens or authorization codes from Google or Apple and pass them to Unity Authentication so your game account can be linked or restored. Sign in with Apple may request your name and email through Apple's sign-in flow, depending on what you authorize Apple to share. The Game stores some sign-in state locally, such as whether Google Play Games or Apple sign-in was used and, for Apple sign-in, an Apple ID token for automatic sign-in. ### Leaderboards and Player Names The Game uses Unity Leaderboards. When leaderboards are enabled, the Game may submit your explored area score to weekly and all-time leaderboards. If you set a player name, that name and your leaderboard score may be visible to other players. The Game includes local profanity filtering before submitting a new player name. The Game submits leaderboard scores based on explored area. Based on the current implementation, raw location traces are not submitted to Unity Leaderboards. ### Purchases and Subscriptions The Game uses Unity In-App Purchasing and the relevant app store billing systems to offer coin purchases and the Solebound Plus subscription. Purchase processing may involve product identifiers, localized prices, transaction status, receipts, and subscription entitlement checks. Payment card details are handled by the app store, not by us directly. ### Rewarded Ads The Game uses Unity Ads for rewarded ads. Unity Ads may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers where available, IP address, approximate location, ad interaction information, diagnostics, and other information according to Unity's privacy practices and your device or consent settings. The Game stores a local timestamp for the last rewarded ad so it can enforce a cooldown before the next reward. ### Analytics The project includes Unity Analytics and an in-game analytics consent choice. If you consent to analytics, Unity services may collect gameplay events, device information, technical diagnostics, session information, approximate location inferred from network information, and other analytics data provided by the Unity SDK. If you do not consent where consent is required, analytics initialization is not enabled by the Game's consent screen. ### Missions and User-Created Content The Game includes mission features. Depending on build configuration, missions may be loaded from local files or from a backend endpoint. If mission creation is configured to post to a server, a created mission may include: - mission name; - selected point-of-interest names; - point-of-interest categories; - descriptions; - latitude and longitude of selected places. Do not include personal or sensitive information in mission names or other user-entered content. ### Device, Network, and Diagnostics Information The Game and third-party SDKs may collect technical information needed to run online features, including device type, operating system, app version, network status, IP address, crash or error logs, and service identifiers. ## How We Use Information We use collected information to: - provide real-world map and exploration gameplay; - save and restore your progress; - operate authentication, account linking, purchases, subscriptions, ads, leaderboards, and missions; - calculate scores, rewards, and gameplay statistics; - detect and troubleshoot errors; - improve gameplay and performance where analytics is enabled; - comply with app store, legal, security, and fraud-prevention requirements. ## How Information Is Shared We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the Game, including: - Unity, for Unity Authentication, Unity Analytics, Unity Ads, Unity IAP, and Unity Leaderboards; - Google, for Google Play Games sign-in and Google Play billing on Android; - Apple, for Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases on iOS; - Mapbox, for map, location, and point-of-interest functionality; - backend hosting providers, if server-based missions or other online services are enabled. These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and service terms. Leaderboard names and scores may be visible to other players. Mission content may be visible to others if the Game is configured to publish or load shared missions. ## Data Storage and Retention Local gameplay data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the Game, clear app data, or use an in-game delete/reset feature where available. Online account, leaderboard, purchase, ad, analytics, and platform service data may be retained by Unity, Google, Apple, Mapbox, or backend providers according to their own retention policies. When you delete your account through the Game, the Game attempts to delete the Unity Authentication account and clears local app data from the device. This may not automatically delete data retained by app stores, ad networks, analytics providers, or other third-party services where they are independent controllers or legally required to retain records. ## Your Choices and Controls You can: - allow, deny, or revoke location permissions in your device settings; - control background location permission in your device settings; - control notification permission in your device settings; - choose whether to consent to analytics where the consent screen is shown; - manage ad tracking permissions and advertising ID settings through your device settings; - manage purchases and subscriptions through Google Play or the Apple App Store; - update your player name before submitting it to leaderboards; - delete local data or request account deletion where the Game provides those options. Disabling permissions or services may limit gameplay features. ## Children's Privacy The Game is not intended to collect personal information from children beyond what is necessary to provide gameplay and platform services. If the Game is made available to children in any region, use age-appropriate consent, ad, analytics, and store settings required by applicable law and app store policies. If you believe a child has provided personal information and you want it deleted, contact us using the contact information above. ## International Transfers The Game and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country or region. ## Security We use reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Local save data stored on your device may be accessible to someone with access to the device or its backups. ## Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the Game or through store listing updates where appropriate. ## Third-Party Privacy Links You can review relevant third-party privacy information here: - Unity Privacy Policy: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy - Unity Ads privacy information: https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy - Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy - Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ - Mapbox Privacy Policy: https://www.mapbox.com/legal/privacy
